About Custom Design Builders

Custom Design Builder’s Inc. (CDB) was founded in Colorado Springs in 2001 by CDB’s president, Ben Woody. Ben’s experience in residential construction extends back to 1990, where he worked on both the construction side and the supply side of the residential building industry in his native state of Tennessee.

While Ben served nearly 20 years in public safety as a professional firefighter/EMT, he simultaneously developed CDB to be the business it is today. Retiring from the Colorado Springs Fire Department in 2012, Ben now brings his years of experience in fire safety to the full-time development of CDB, ensuring that home safety is addressed in every project.

Custom Design Builders is a family-based corporation owned and operated by Ben and Pam Woody. Working together in both business and family life, Ben and Pam have enjoyed 30 years of marriage and have parented three wonderful daughters. With the girls now finished college and established on their own, Ben and Pam share a renewed focus on the growth and development of CDB.

Ben’s years of service in both construction and firefighting have helped to develop a strong commitment to teamwork and professionalism on every construction project. The CDB team of subcontractors has been carefully selected to provide courteous service and high-quality work for all CDB customers.
